Today, there seems to be a dire need of many in the church to engage and mobilize to the voting booth with great passion. while the reasons and issues differ, to a great degree. I see some doing so in concern with traditional family values and these views they base on the scripturses? I observe some are so impassioned for pro-life and the sanctity of marriage that the other social and moral issues may be left to hindsight and to the peril of the totality of our overall community needs. even so, some in the church put politics and governing philosophy and political party before the gospel of Jesus Christ, the great commission and before the kingdom of god. I have been guilty in the past of doing all three. but now when I look at the compatibility of either of the 2 parties with gods word, I find both party platforms and philosophies are out of touch and too far gone from anything Jesus taught in the gospels. simply put there really is no good choice between the 2 parties in American politics. in no way am I saying not to vote, do so. these are my own observations and convictions that I base on the teachings of Jesus Christ found in scripture.
for Christians nothing should be of more importance than the Gospel of Christ, the Great Commission and the furthering and advancement of the kingdom of god through his church, who is led, guided and empowered by the holy spirit unto the consummation of the coming kingdom when Jesus Christ returns In glory.
