This picture here with Sophie,

this is what I see.

I see:

This is my territory.

This body here,

this is my mind,

this is my whole being,

all of me.

And when I play on this court,

I breathe.

I take it right to the heart of the matter.

I don’t back down,

I’m not afraid,

but I’m not aggressive.

I will defend,

but I won’t hurt the other person in the process,

maybe by some chance

they will see where they can change.

This is my court.

I’m not run all over this court because I’m prepared.

I’m the one who runs this court.

Preparation is everything— mentally,

physically,

spiritually,

emotionally,

psychologically.

To be grounded,

as you see me in the picture—

yes, I’m on the ground,

but I’ve never been more ready.

This is my court,

and I’m not here to observe

who could be an opponent

or an enemy,

but I’m here to be a vessel

that’s being transformed,

and possibly

to be a mirror to others

to see where they need transformation.
